Business Critical is our weekly collection of what’s new, exciting, and insightful for business leaders from the world of the web, marketing, social media, and more.
Test Your Brainpower With Lucy’s Interactive Website
Immersive experiences are a favorite for marketers, but adding practical value is always a challenge.
In promoting the movie Lucy– wherein Scarlett Johannson gradually becomes a superhuman– Universal Pictures teamed with a text-streaming technology to give you the full experience of seeing the world through superhuman eyes. This interesting team-up revels in the ever-popular trend of ‘testing yourself’ and posting results online. The real winner however is Spritz, demonstrating their tech through an impressive and immersive website. In the words of the website “I will assess your brain capacity.” Whoa.
Google Becomes The Sheriff
Google has long vowed to make the web a better place. It appears they are also prepared to take a role in its security.
This week, Google announced Project Zero, which assigns a task force of their own security agents to expose vulnerabilities online. The real kicker is that they vow to also send bug reports directly to vendors in “as close to real-time as possible, and work with them to get fixes to users in a reasonable time.”
It’s a promising endeavor and a real win-win for online businesses concerned with the ever-looming threat of cyber-attacks.
